Qibla ("the app") is a Qibla-direction compass for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app uses and what happens to it.
To show the direction and distance to the Kaaba, Qibla reads your device's location (only while you are using the app) and its compass/magnetometer heading. This information is used entirely on your device to calculate the direction and distance and to draw the map and compass.
Qibla also stores a few preferences locally on your device (in Apple's standard app-preferences storage): your chosen calculation method, heading reference, haptic-feedback setting, whether the map is expanded, and any location you search for and set manually. None of this leaves your device.
The satellite map and the "set location manually" search are provided by Apple's MapKit framework. To display map tiles and return search results, MapKit sends the map area being viewed and the text you type to Apple's own map and search servers. This is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive, see or control it. We operate no servers of our own.
Nothing. Qibla has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We never receive your location, your searches, your preferences or any other data from your device.
Qibla is a general-audience utility that does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
